Current ASET Projects

ASET currently has 2 active working groups, set up for specific projects. These are the IT Systems group which is producing the associated publication and the Health and Safety working group which is working with UCEA and USHA on new Health and Safety guidance.

ASET will also be working with NASES on their Postgraduate Diploma in the Management of Student Work Experience.

A proposal is also currently under review relating to innovative methods of assessing work experience.

Working groups are likely to be set up to work on each of the new series of Good Practice for Placements guides that ASET will be producing.

New Proposals

ASET always welcomes new proposals to support anyone wishing to undertake research in the field of placement/work-based learning and employability. We can allocate research funding or assist by resourcing in other ways such as recruiting others with similar interests to collaborate with, facilitating communication and meetings, and ultimately dissemination.

If you want to apply to undertake such a project, or have suggestions for areas that ASET might set up it own working groups to look into, please contact the ASET office. Proposals will eventually need to be formally presented and, where applicable, costed, for assessment by the Executive Committee, although we also welcome initial informal discourse.
