We are proud to offer ASET Bursaries to both Staff and Students. Our Bursaries are available only to ASET member institutions, and are designed to support staff, to further the knowledge base in placement learning and to provide work experience opportunities for students.
We also offer a Student Competition each year, open to all returning placement students at ASET member institutions. The competition offers prizes under two categories:
For each category a first prize of £400 and a highly commended prize of £100 will be awarded to students who can articulate, in 900 words, their learning from their recent placement. We look for entries which have the ability to inform others about the value of placement experience, clearly express the value of learning, and do so in a lively and enthusiastic manner. For details of how to apply visit ASET Competitions.
We are pleased to offer two new bursaries to support staff at ASET member institutions. These small bursaries are intended to provide opportunities for learning from experience which are inclusive, to widen access to people whom might otherwise face financial barriers to engaging in opportunities to progress their careers and develop their professional network.
For staff wishing to spend a day work shadowing another individual from an ASET member institution. The bursary is to pay for travel costs, with a requirement to submit a 400 word reflection on the learning which may be published in the ASET e-Bulletin. Recipients will also be invited to submit a Poster for the ASET Conference.
How to apply
Applications for bursaries are to be made using the relevant application form. Claims will be limited to one claim per trip and two claims per person per academic year, and will be paid directly to the claimant. All applications will be assessed by a panel consisting of no fewer than 2 individuals made up from the salaried staff and ASET Executive. Applications for either bursary will be accepted on a rolling basis until the available money is used up.
