This workshop will provide participants with the tools and expertise to develop and manage international WBPL opportunities. Within this workshop delegates will consider how to source\, embed and include overseas placements within your offer\, touch on the complexities of health\, safety and welfare (to consider this in more depth we would recommend ASET’s Managing Health\, Safety and Welfare for Student Placements) and explore how to successfully prepare students for the experience and beyond.

DESCRIPTION:60-minute online Insight session – Autistic Voices in HE: Work Based Learning \nThe AViHE: WBL project aims to advance awareness and understanding of autism and how autistic individuals can be supported within HE (and beyond) by gathering and sharing the lived experiences of autistic learners in a work-based learning setting (either Apprenticeship or Placement).  This session will explore the findings of the AViHE: WBL project\, providing insights into the experiences of autistic learners in work-based learning settings\, alongside support suggestions and training recommendations. \nThis Insight session aims to better equip people to support neurodivergent students in HE and employment settings. \nCost\n£50 for ASET members\n£100 for non-member \nBook Now

An opportunity to meet peers across the ASET community and participate in facilitated discussions around current topics relevant to our field. \nFor our December Hubs we will be joined by Ben Lishman from London South Bank University to hear more about their Energy Advice Centre. The LSBU Energy Advice Centre (EAC) is a free public advice service to help London residents and communities to improve the energy performance of their homes and reduce their energy costs. The EAC is staffed by LSBU students working under the supervision of staff from the School of Engineering. \nJoin us for a presentation outlining this student service-learning initiative followed by Q&A and peer networking breakout room discussions. \nOur Hubs will run on Tuesday 9th and Thursday 11th December with the same presentation and discussion topic at each. We hope this offers members flexibility to attend on the day that best suits individual availability. \nASET members register your free place here
