NEW Workshop! Experiential Learning

This NEW in-person workshop is  designed specifically for university practitioners involved in work based and placement learning, this highly interactive workshop will introduce the principles of experiential learning and demonstrate how those can be embedded into workshops and teaching practice.  Facilitated by experienced practitioners, participants will explore how immersive, kinaesthetic and hands-on approaches can deepen classroom based student engagement, strengthen connections between theory and practice, and better prepare students for professional environments.  Through a series of practical activities, participants will experience these methods first-hand and gain insights into their impact on learning.

More than simply a workshop about experiential learning, this is an opportunity to learn through experience.  Participants will be encouraged to reflect on the activities they undertake, critically examine the factors that make classroom based  experiential approaches effective and consider how these strategies can be adapted to their own contexts.  Whether you are designing placements, project-based modules, simulations, or other work experiences, this session will provide inspiration, practical tools and approaches to enhance student preparation for placements, and to complement external experience with classroom based experiential learning.
