This introductory session on the broad topic of work placement management is updated to provide an overview on approaches to placement management to guide placement practitioners and managers. Participants will be furnished with a basis from which they can develop their own approaches, plans and manage the challenges likely to be faced in their jobs.
This workshop is the perfect gateway for all work based and placement learning practitioners; work placement managers, officers, administrators and academic placement tutors, particularly those with little experience, who are new to their role, about to be appointed, or those simply wanting a refresher course. The session is designed to introduce the fundamental aspects of working in the placements and work based learning space within the Higher Education context.
With a flexible and responsive approach to participants’ needs and interests the emphasis may vary between topics at each workshop. Workshop facilitators will support mechanisms for online networking amongst delegates as well as create opportunities for discussion and dialogue.
This has been a very useful and informative session, thank you Seamus, Clodagh and Nick. Lots of food for thought and good to meet everyone too!
