Good risk management is the identification, then elimination or mitigation of risk. A risk-based approach allows resources to be allocated appropriately and for extra preparation and measures to be taken when higher risk is identified.
Within this new workshop we will consider the operational aspects of risk management for work based and placement learning. Delegates will examine the use of Risk Profiling to make informed judgements, explore risk within the domestic and international context and appraise how they and others engage learners in the risk management process.
Designed to complement ASET’s Managing Health, Safety and Welfare for Student Placements workshop, this workshop will examine the continuum of good practice and explore in more depth the operational processes and considerations within risk management.
Some prior knowledge of risk management/health, safety and welfare for placements would be useful – this could be gained from attendance at ASET’s Health, Safety and Welfare for Placements workshop or from experience within your work role.

This was an extremely useful section, thank you to all involved. For a very complex area, you broke down the workshop into manageable sections, covering a lot of ground in a way that was easy to follow. I appreciated the time to talk to other colleagues and hear from ASET Trustees with their experience and examples.
Great examples given and nice to chat in the breakout rooms with colleagues. Great speakers. Covered a LOT in a short space of time in an engaging manner. thanks
