60-minute online Insight session – Increasing Access and Success in Science Placements

Many placement students in the Faculty of Science, University of York undertake research-based roles during a year in industry at national research and development organisations (e.g. STFC or UKAEA) or manufacturing employers (e.g. GSK or JLR).

This Insight will present lessons learned from practice across Biology and Physics disciplines, including an OfS-funded project that delivered tailored support to increase engagement by WP students.  York’s aim has been to improve access and success for all placement students, particularly under-represented groups.
