Adele Etwaroo

Co-opted Trustee

Adele is the Work Experience and Placements Manager at the University of Westminster. She has extensive experience working in Higher Education employability, particularly placements and work based learning. Based in the University of Westminster’s Career and Employability Service she works with a range of stakeholders to support students across a variety of courses to gain experience through work-based learning activities, short-term work experience or year-long placements.

Adele is committed to enhancing student employability through the development of work based learning opportunities and brings to the ASET board an in-depth knowledge of the practical application of delivery. She has ample experience managing the documentation and compliance aspects of work-based learning programmes, ensuring that due diligence and risk assessments are in place for all placements and utilises ASET’s Good Practice Guides as a reference source.

Additionally, she has been responsible for reviewing and updating guides and placement processes and developing new resources such as a Wellbeing Guide for students on placement, additional information for students considering doing a placement abroad and a Good Practice in Work Experience Guide for employers. A skilled and knowledgeable leader, Adele took part in took part in the Aurora took part in the Aurora Programme (HE Women’s Development) in 2022 and has gone on to support fellow female leaders as a mentor on the Women of Westminster Mentoring Programme.
